Quality Policies at Omme Gears

The Quality Policy of Omme Gears is made up of two distinct documents (Policy and Objective Programs) which complement each other and make the Policy itself dynamic and easily adaptable to the ever-changing circumstances of our company. This is done by ensuring that the quality management system attains the expected results by actively involving, guiding, and supporting individuals so that they contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system. This document highlights the commitments and principles on which our Policy is based, the other document (Annual Objectives Program) describes the objectives that Omme Gears identifies as continuous growth in improvement on a year-to-year basis in meticulous detail.

The priority objective of Omme Gears’ top management is to maintain an efficient Quality Management System in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 9001 standard, promoting the use of the process approach and risk-based thinking, capable of continuously ensuring: compliance of the product/service with the requirements demanded by the customer, the applicable legislation and the Reference Standards by taking responsibility for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System. By making sure that the established policy and objectives are compatible with the context and strategic plans of the organization. The goal is to maintain and further establish its position in the market for “DESIGNING REDUCERS AND MANUFACTURING GEARS AND TRANSMISSION BODIES” by ensuring that the requirements of the quality management system are integrated into the organization’s business processes, clearly identifying customer expectations and needs in order to convert them into requirements that need to be met by offering customers the best price/quality ratio for products/services and providing excellent customer services. However, these tasks must be carried out with a focus on continuous improvement and business excellence.

An indispensable objective of the Quality Policy of Omme Gears is the commitment to create, develop, and disseminate a culture of ‘high quality’, at all levels of the company. This implies that top management should make the necessary resources available (both human and technological) and that everyone involved is committed to the improvement of the quality of the product/service offered.

Therefore, just as a high degree of involvement of all human resources in product/service quality improvement activities is crucial, the dissemination of information and communication inside and outside Omme Gears is a privileged tool. This will help all personnel understand key concepts of the Quality Policy and achieve the fundamental objective.

The top management of Omme Gears also ensures the maintenance of its Corporate Quality Management System as a vital objective. This is done by promoting improvement and through constant and periodic verification of how the Management Procedures, Operating Instructions, Process Flows, and Quality Policy are upheld. These checks are done in all areas of the company, through internal audits and specific reviews. Finally, determinants are to be considered, achieving the objectives of efficiency of processes will be kept under constant check through systematic monitoring and analysis of quality data and their performance.

Omme Gears has had the UNI EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System in place since 1999. The next few years will represent a very special period for three important reasons:

  1. The pandemic caused by COVID-19, which has heavily affected the company’s business since March 2020, still continues to affect both turnover and methods of product manufacturing. If the 2020-21 period has been characterized by profound changes with all the negative effects of the case, the coming years will look like years of “normalization”.
This foresees that our Company will be heavily engaged in consolidating the new methods of customer contact (e.g. remote calls) and product supply (minimum internal stocks of processed products where possible), but also in seizing business opportunities offered by this radical change of perspective.
  2. The reduction of operating costs, in tune with the current macroeconomic framework and new operating methods, has prompted us to revisit operating environments (not only offices) and more generally the virtualization of businesses (smart working when and where possible/ if needed).
  3. QMS compliance with ISO 9001:15 standards pays great attention to risk management, considering risk an increasingly inescapable element for both business and complex systems. In this context, Covid-19 could be considered a prominent example.
